Write two essays from the questions below. Your first essay must address the first question about the collection planning process. For your second essay you can choose from two questions about matter/energy interaction or resolution. Each essay should be approximately three pages (roughly 750 words). It is expected that you will engage in independent research and locate and use articles and materials from sources you locate through the library, internet searches, or other sources. Cite your sources.
The first question on the collection process is informed by readings and course materials throughout the course, in particular the Week 1 and Week 4 lessons. Support for the questions about matter/energy interaction and resolution can be found below.
Required question to answer:
- Describe the collection planning process and evaluate the potential problems that can interfere with effective collection planning and subsequent collection operations.
AND choose one of the following questions to answer:
- How do we learn about objects of interest to intelligence through matter/energy interaction: emission, reflection, refraction, and absorption?
- Describe resolution, discuss how this applies to intelligence, and define the principle measures of resolution used to analyze and evaluate collected information. Describe how resolution is used to extract information from collected data. Provide real-life cases and examples. Address the concepts of resolution as they apply to imagery, communications, electronic, and human intelligence collection.
Please use the assigned course readings. To earn points you MUST demonstrate that you’ve read and comprehended the content of the material linked below!
