For Part I you will be researching a psychological disorder of your choice. Please choose any Psychological disorder of your choice that is discussed in your textbook and research the same. If choosing an Anxiety Disorder – you need to choose one particular anxiety disorder listed in the textbook.
You can use books, journal articles, online sites and any other resource. Please use the textbook too. You need to use at least 3 sources other than your text.
- Name of Disorder (0.25 points)
- Symptoms – please elaborate on at least 3 symptoms (4.5 points)
- Causes – please mention at least 2 causes (3 points)
- Population disorder occurs in – for ex. Is it more common in men vs women vs children? (1 points)
- Comorbidity – Do other disorders usually co-occur with your chosen disorder? If so, name any two and elaborate on the same (1 points)
- What kind of therapy is used to help people with this kind of disorder? Please elaborate on at least two. (2.5 points)
- Please mention any medications that are used to treat this disorder. Make sure to list some names f popular medications. (2 points)
- Why did you choose this disorder? (0.75 points)
Part II – Psychoactive Drug (12 points)
For Part II you will be researching a psychoactive substance of your choice. Please choose any Psychoactive substance of your choice that is discussed in your textbook and research the same. You can use books, journal articles, online sites and any other resource. Please use the textbook too. You need to use at least 2 sources other than your text.
NOTE: Please remember that your choice of Psychoactive substance cannot be related to your disorder. For instance if you choose ADHD for your disorder, you cannot choose Ritalin or any other stimulant used to treat ADHD for you Psychoactive Drug.

- Categorize the drug as being a stimulant, depressant, or hallucinogen and your reasoning behind the same. (2 points)
- Name at least 2 common street names for the drug (2 points)
- Ways this drug can be administered (2 points)
- Explain how it affects the person who has taken it – please elaborate on at least 2 ways (3 points)
- Please elaborate on any 2 dangers/risks/side effects associated with taking the drug (2 points)
- Why did you choose this drug over others for this assignment? (0.75 points)

You need to include a bibliography. Your bibliography should be in APA format. It should include:
- sources that you used for both Part A and Part B
- textbook (hopefully you used it)
