Hi everyone!

I just got more information about the Mardi Gras Fest.   Please use this to help you with your assignment:   The 2nd Annual Algiers Mardi Gras Festival will be held February 22, 2022 from 10am-6pm in the Algiers.  The 501(c) (3) non-profit organization’s mission is to celebrate New Orleans Culture, Mardi Gras Style, while developing the education of food, music and arts amongst students within the community. The festival is a non-admission family-oriented celebration that will promote cultural diversity of local food, music, arts, and crafts to the general public.  The estimated attendance for the upcoming festival is approximately 5K people from the metro New Orleans area. The festival will feature New Orleans musicians, cuisine, arts, crafts and a cookoff competition/demonstration by the students from the Delgado Community College Culinary school and the University of Holy Cross Food Science Department.  In addition there will be several food vendors selling New Orleans favorite cuisine. There will be a community parade which starts at 9am at L.B Landry and Lamarque St.  Then right on Newton St, (which turns into Gen Meyer Ave) and the disband at Federal City Algiers.  The parade will feature Former City Council Member Jacquelyn Clarkson, Grand Marshall.  The Algiers high school and middle school bands, The Irish/Italian Algiers  Walking Group, MoHawk Hunters New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians, several Mardi Gras Krewes and several walking groups will participate in the community parade.

From Chef Angela Wilson at Delgado: As for our part, Delgado is sponsoring a culinary tent with Rouses. The tent will have a house a student competition based around cooking your favorite family rice dish. The participants are from Holy Cross University food science program and Delgado Culinary. the student tastings and voting starts at 10 ends at noon, tickets to taste are $1 each. Starting at noon we will have chefs demos on stage until 4. 
I will get them to send me the band line up and any other information we have. I know there is a parade too.
