For this assignment, you will be designing a comprehensive unit using your Topic 2 Differentiated Lesson Plan and the “COE 3-Day Unit Plan Template” that highlights methods of instruction and assessments based on student data. Continue developing the topic into a 3-day unit.

Design the 3-day unit plan to include:

  • Meaningful and measurable learning objectives for each lesson based on the identified concept and aligned to national/state learning standards. Include one learning objective addressing a cross-curricular concept for each day.
  • Within the lesson's Multiple Means of Representation, select instructional strategies and activities that enhance effective instruction and are based on student data.
  • Within the lesson's Multiple Means of Engagement, select activities that are diverse and differentiated to address all students’ needs.
  • Within the lesson's Multiple Means of Expression, use technically sound formative and summative assessments that minimize sources of bias to support, verify, and document learning. Include a formative assessment for each day, one summative assessment, and one authentic assessment with an aligned rubric.

Additionally, in 250-500 words, provide a rationale at the bottom of your unit plan.  Discuss how you used your mentor’s feedback to modify your lesson, incorporate cross-curricular concepts, and make additional instructional decisions for the unit. Reflecting on the authentic assessment given to your field experience classroom during Topic 4 and the data collected, what specific considerations would you make for the group if you were to implement this unit and authentic assessment?
