- Recommended word count: 1,600-2,400 words
- Make an arguable claim and use a combination of evidence and examples to support that claim
- Include at least two mediums other than text (photo, infographic, audio, video)
- Provide attribution within the piece for all sources used including visuals
- Adhere to accessibility standards by providing alt text for all images and following best practices in page layout/design and hyperlinking
- Include 4+ sources:
- At least 1 source should be a peer-reviewed article found through the library database
- Sources fulfilling an identical function should not take up more than one spot in this 5-source minimum. This is especially relevant for primary sources. For instance, lets say youre writing about the recent release of Mulan and how Disney portrays other cultures; in that case, you shouldnt count Mulan, Moana, Aladdin, and Pocahontas as four of your five required sources. Definitely use them all if theyre relevant; just dont count them as more than one of the four required sources.
