Chapter two covers the founding of the United States, which includes the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. These documents are still relevant to understanding American government today. The Articles of Confederation, while no longer a governing document, provides a historic background to the division and sometimes still conflicting interests of the State and National governments. As you read chapter two, you should focus on these three important documents. Please watch the Empire of Reasonvideo and answer all three questions below in complete sentences with supporting citations and two classmate response. You may choose from Option A or Option B. Please identify your selection in the your post title.  Remember to include a reply to a classmate as well. Option A:  Federalist or Anti-Federalists – The Empire of Reason, re-enacts the original arguments for and against the Constitution. A transcript accompanies the video so you can clearly identify quotes*.   1. Anti-Federalists vs. the Federalists Explain the opposing positions of  federalists and anti-federalists.

  2. Identify one Federalist and one Anti-federalist argument presented in the video, and explain the importance of this concern then and now. Please use specific quotes from the video for each side.

  3. Which position (federalist or anti-federalist) do you find more persuasive and why?
