1.) Identify one of the learning theories you connect with and then identify an topic you would teach in an Ethics course and tell me how you would teach it based on the principles of this learning theory. Give specific examples
2.) Discuss how you would include threading concepts of cultural diversity into this teaching/lecture and/or activity.
3.) Discuss one strategy you would implement in teaching this content for a class with 3 different generations in it. How would you promote collaboration among the different generations of students?
4.) Give feedback to your co-students on their approach including: strengths and ideas for improving their ideas to promote optimal learning experiences.

Topic: ETHICS

2.) Discuss how you would include threading concepts of diversity into this teaching/lecture and/or activity.
3.) Discuss one strategy you would implement in teaching this content for a class with 3 different generations in it.
Example:
Theory to be used: Social Constructivist Learning theory:
Integration of students into a knowledge community. Collaborative assimilation and accommodation of new information. Collaborative learning is facilitated and guided by the teacher. Group work is encouraged.
Approach to teaching ethics:
Case Study: students would be assigned to groups to work on the following case
A family presents to the hospital with their 16-year-old son who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The grandmother, who helps support the family financially, is very religious and the parents believe God will heal him. The parents disagree and wants all aggressive efforts made to save his son. The 16-year-old boy states he will allow surgery for debulking to be done but does not want to undergo Chemo because he watched is friends mother go through Chemotherapy and she died anyway.
Each group will be assigned a role/view point to take. The workgroup will have 30 minutes to develop your position based on ethical principles to justify your point of view. Discuss the cultural beliefs that each group member has and how that influences the decision making. Discuss the generational differences that may influence your persons decision making. Discuss Group 4 will be the ethics committee who will listen to all sides and then meet for 15 minutes to make a decision and present this decision based on ethical principles:
Group 1: Grandmother
Group 2: Parents
Group 3: 16-year-old
Group 4: Ethics committee
