Week 5: DR/BC Assessment and Maintenance

For this assignment, you will respond to the following scenario:

Testing of the DR/BC plan was started but did not go well. As part of the test, systems that were taken off-line were not properly restored. Databases were corrupted. Internet and external communications have been lost.

The project deliverables are as follows:

  • Update the DR/BC Plan title page with the new date.
  • Update the previously completed sections based on the instructor’s feedback.
  • Testing
    • Compose a section in your DR/BC document that addresses the following:
      • What could have been done to avoid this failure situation
      • What to do during the event, including who to contact and when
      • What to do after the event and systems have been restored
  • Maintenance
    • Compose a section on what must be done to maintain this DR/BC Plan in a satisfactory state of readiness.
    • Describe how a DR/BC audit might be conducted, by whom, for what purpose, and how frequently.
  • Final Document Review
    • Review the entire document for any changes and improvements that you would like to make.
    • Ensure that this final version of the plan is sufficiently detailed to allow the organization to confidently move forward with the use of the document for the next steps in development of the DR/BC Plan based on your report.
