You will use Wikipedia (yes, Wikipedia), as a starting point to research three historical Earthquakes. Go to the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_earthquakes
It includes earthquakes listed by:
· Largest Earthquake by Magnitude
· Largest Earthquake by Country
· Costliest Earthquakes
· Deadliest Earthquakes
You should choose two (2) significant earthquakes. They don’t need to be the biggest, most deadly, etc. Variety will make it more interesting. You will present ONE of these examples to class. Presentations will only be 1 or 2 minutes. Visual aids will be greatly appreciated.
For each earthquake, you should answer the following questions:
· Where?
· When?
· How many deaths?
· How much damage?
· What was the cause?
· Why did you choose this event?
Carefully record this information as you will need to hand it in. (Don’t forget to properly cite your sources in MLA format)
Once you have researched your earthquakes, you need to spend some time researching in order to answer the question:
· What can we do to lessen the impact of the next big earthquake? What are we actually doing here?
