Open discussion week. You choose what you would like to discuss from the week’s course material. However, see yourself as the “teacher” this week. I will be interactive, but the goal this week is for you to be an expert on the topic. Please be sure to put the topic you are addressing in the subject line. Also, there will be just one thread to which you all will post as a reply.
For Example:
- The Divine Command Theory
- The Euthyphro Dilemma
- Moral Relativism
- Morality Without God and the like
- Yes, you may pick other topics, just be sure they are related to the philosophy of religion.
Be sure to provide reasoned evaluations of the issues and discuss them philosophically rather than just stating your opinion. Use scholarly sources and provide both citations and references. Keep in mind you need a citation in the body of the post to demonstrate that and where you used the resource before you can list one. Note, while my primary role every week is to guide discussions and clear up any misperceptions, this role is minimized this week. I will try to engage with all of you, as usual, but may inadvertently overlook some folks this week.
