Discussions are collaborative learning experiences where
the student creates a five-part thread in
response
to the provided prompt and interacts with classmates’ answers. The student will
complete 2
Discussions in this course. The student will post one thread of at least 300
words by
11:59 p.m.
(ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. The student must then post 2
replies of
at least 150 words each by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the assigned Module:
Week.
While
there is not a number requirement for citations, the student is expected to
reference
applicable
readings, presentations, and notes in the discussion threads and replies. In
addition,
the
student should use the Bible as a source as well as cite related internet
resources. Because
this course
is taken by the entire university you may use the citation style (APA, MLA,
Turabian,
etc.) with
which you are most comfortable.
Perhaps the most practical tool is an app for phones. For the first Discussion, you will download an evangelistic app of your choice (several have been suggested) to a phone. Then, answer the following questions:
1. What are your two favorite features of the app?
2. What is a struggle you have with which the app may be able to help?
3. In what kind of situation would the app work well?
4. To what type of person would the app work best?
5. What other website, video, tract, or tool might go along with this app?
Number the answers to avoid missing a part. Write in complete sentences and be specific; do not just list words. If certain features seem well-designed or practical, then point them out. Think about what you can do with the app that you couldn’t do otherwise. Be personal and clear so that a classmate who reads your answer can reply.
