Your final project presentation will be focused on a topic that you select from the NASA Science, Solar System Exploration website.  You can find the link in Unit 8 directly below this assignment tab.  Research and select one major topic area from the menu tabs on the top right of the home page.  (Solar Systems, Planets, Moons, Asteroids, Comets, Meteors).  Provide a thorough review of your topic, include statistical data, location, distance, composition, biologicals, and provide pictures and any current data if applicable.  You will also find one peer-reviewed journal article pertaining to your selected topic. In the “Getting Started” module you will find a lib-guide created specifically for this course, and it will provide you with a wealth of peer-reviewed journal articles that you may use for this assignment.    Be sure to provide a URL for your journal article.  Submit your presentation to this area when complete.

  • Body of Information (4 – 8 slides, not including pictures)
  • Data (1 – 2 slides, including charts)
  • Analysis (1 – 2 slides, including charts)

****Criteria****
Presentation and Citations (The presentation is loosely organized around instructions, the text is well written and provides enough detail to be understood. Sources are cited correctly and list includes at least 1 peer-reveiwed article.)

Title Page (~1 page) (The title of the presentation is present and provides the viewer with a clear understanding of the topic of the presentation.)

  • Introduction (~1- 2 pages)The introduction orients the reader to the topic and includes a general overview of basic information. The introduction piques the viewer’s interest in the topic.

Body of Information (~4 – 8 pages, including pictures)Slides fully explain the following items as it relates to the topic: location, distance, composition, biologicals, and provide pictures and any current data if applicable.

Data (~1 – 2 pages, including charts)Statistical data about the topic is presented with appropriate charts. The charts are clearly described and the implication of the data is explained.

Analysis (~1 – 2 pages, including charts)

The analysis is clear and pulls together the data and body of the information section. In addition, the analysis helps readers understand concepts they may not have understood on their own.

Conclusions (~1 – 2 pages)The conclusion summarizes the topic in detail and is an appropriate ending to the presentation.
