Each student will be responsible for selecting a case on which to write a term paper/forensic case analysis, due at the end of the semester
The paper should be between 8 and 10 pages long (doubled spaced)
This case may take the form of either a novel that has been written about a criminal case, a movie or documentary that has focused on a criminal case or a series of actual court decisions with respect to a criminal case.
The term paper/forensic analysis should describe the case in detail and provide an analysis of the psychological, psychosocial and biological aspects of the case.
Please address issues from the novel or movie that relate to specific psychiatric diagnoses and criminal behaviors that we have spoken about in class.
Your paper should begin with an introduction where you can give an overview of the diagnosis or movie.
Then in the body of the paper you should write about scenes or examples from the movie or novel where the character displays the specific disorder.
In addition, please include a critique as to whether what is displayed in the novel or movie is correct based on your knowledge about the disorder and criminal behavior.
