You are required to write a final paper of approximately 10 double-spaced pages, with at least 8 full pages of body text. (The rest can include a mandatory list of references, an optional title page, and figures and tables as appropriate.) The topic can be one we discussed in class. It can also be a topic that we did not discuss in class, but which is relevant to cognition as it relates to educational psychology, subject to instructor approval. Your paper should review one aspect of the educational psychology literature in depth and provide a cohesive summary of conceptual and empirical advances. It should contain the following sections: an Introduction identifying the literature of interest and the research questions it targets, a Review section summarizing relevant studies in a principled way, a Discussion section evaluating the current state of the literature, and a Future Directions section discussing outstanding empirical questions and suggesting future studies.
