I am not part of a group I asked the prof to work alone. Following are the instructions.

Group Discussion Board Project – Use the Same Team for Both Group Projects

It is challenging to complete group work in a short semester with large classes and yet I still feel that it is important to make connections with each other and have the opportunity to collaborate like people do in the real world.

  • Your groups have been randomly assigned. You should be able to see them in the Group section. (Let me know if you can’t.)
  • If you were not enrolled when the groups were assigned, you will need to join one of the groups that only have 4 members.
  • While your groups have been assigned, if you face any challenges connecting with the team, you may adjust or create your own group as necessary. Be sure to give everyone a reasonable amount of time to respond first. Even if you are not in the exact group as assigned, make sure you are in a group. Not having a group means you will be doing the work on your own to receive credit. This class is only eight weeks and you need to jump in and get started.
  • Your group can decide how to split up the projects and work to accommodate schedules and skills. Just like a work project for an employer, make a plan for who does what and develop a timeline to finish the project.
  • At least one of you must turn in the project to receive a grade for your group. Make sure you know who is in your group and include the names on the first page/slide of the project as that is what I will use to confirm credit. NAMES MUST BE LISTED AS IN THE COURSE SO I CAN LOCATE YOU IN THIS LARGE CLASS.
  • Use a PowerPoint or Google slideshow format to create your content and include the text of exactly what you would be saying in the presentation as if it were live. Type the exact wording of what would be said in the “Notes” section at the bottom of each slide. The text should sound like talking and not as if it were pulled from the book or the internet.
  • If you choose to split up who develops which slides, be sure to review the overall presentation for flow and continuity.
  • Use sound presentation design principles. i.e. Don’t put a ton of words on the slides and type the same thing in the notes. The slides should complement the speaking content.
  • Your presentation should be a minimum of 12 slides. Include a title slide at the beginning with the names of the group members and a source slide at the end or note the source(s) as a footnote on each applicable slide.
  • You will need to submit the presentation (typically PPT, PPTX, etc.) in presentation format and not pdf so I can view the notes.
  • Selected presentations may be posted for viewing by all students of the class.
