I hope you’re having a great week I just wanted to talk to you a little bit about this assignment called the critical review it’s been open since the beginning of the semester and it’s not a large assignment in any way shape or form or really a term paper because it is essentially asking you to answer some questions a through G which you will find in your course pack and it’s really asking you for your particular response to those questions so there’s nothing really to look up and put in here and this is something I want you to really work on and focus make sure your assignment is in your own thoughts and words and of course it does get scanned as everything else you do by Turnitin and some other different plagiarism or academic software so let’s make sure you are putting your own words and everything that you say and do for this assignment a couple of other things you’re going to be asked here about presentational style what does that mean and essentially it’s asking you as an audience member whether or not you were interacting with the performers now normally when we don’t have the covid situation students can go out to see visual arts exhibitions and live plays and musicals like Hamilton or whatever is playing and Hamilton is coming back but for this assignment you really limited to these selections that I’ve included here in canvas so for the most part unless you identify it as such you’re not being interacted with and in a film you can be interacted with when someone turns the camera and says something so that’s the case you would indicate it by saying that the film or the content is presentation o’ll meaning that the audience and the performer acknowledge one another then the other side of that which is most film is representational and that’s where we are in one reality looking at a second reality which is the characters playing out on the stage or in this case it’ll be within the film so that’s what that’s about and then the other one that people sometimes talk about as performers and that particular question is asking you to identify specific performers and not character so to get full credit if you’re going to be talking about Brad Pitt and Once Upon a time in Hollywood that’s good but if you talk about his characters name that’s not good so we want you to mention the actor or performer in that question Lastly the other one that’s a little bit confusing and I want to clear it up for you is directorial concept that essentially is asking you what do you personally think the director wanted to show the audience so in the case of Once Upon a time in Hollywood what was the director trying to show the audience or in JFK what was the director trying to show the audience and excuse me and then was it effective or successful now remember in some of these films factual events are taken and then fictionalized and I would say Once Upon a time in Hollywood for example takes a real story and then kind of changes the ending to it and then JFK similar thing it’s a Chronicle of the assassination of President Kennedy and most of it is factual but the director and the writers took some artistic liberties in order to convey a point of view to the audience that they wanted to do so make sure you get this assignment done on time because we don’t do late papers you remember that and of course if you have any questions you can always reach out I’ll be happy to help you and remember the questions for this assignment are fully contained in your course pack A through G and there is an example in canvas but that is not the full assignment if you need anything else feel free to let me know.

The writer of the film intended to convey the message of the fact that passion to love can diminish for a married couple after together dealing with a series of realistic situation like house payment, taking care of children and cases that they may have started to consider their being together more like for responsibility than for the still burning love fire. But decreased love should not be ignored and should be considered by the married couple as a sign to figure out what problems that endanger their relationship and spend time together on communicating to each other heart-to-heart and conceiving plans that help arouse their consciousness to love again.

ALL QUESTIONS ARE INCLUDED IN MODULE 3 OF YOUR COURSE PACK. Please use your own thoughts and words when composing this assignment. Your content will be checked after submission.

    THINGS TO CONSIDER

For presentational style with the question is trying to ask you to analyze whether the performers interacted with the audience. This can be the play by all characters (like an improvisation show), or it can be one specific character such as the narrator an into the woods. The narrator acknowledges the audience, but the rest of the characters in the production do not.

When you discuss performers, you should not focus on characters but instead individual performers.

Remember, directorial concept is what the director wanted to show the audience. To answer this question, you must determine from your point of view what you think the director wanted to present to the audience and whether or not you thought it was successful.
