Your task is to identify at a maximum of three sites that you are interested in for your internship. In your final assignment, you will do the following for EACH of your sites:
1. Apply the ecological model (you should have learned this in other HDF classes but here’s a link for a quick refresher: https://courses.lumenlearning.com/suny-buffalo-environmentalhealth/part/chapter-3/ ) to understand the systemic importance of human service agencies in the lives of the individuals they serve (include information about what population the agency serves),
2. Gather information and details (think mission statements) about these sites and reflect on why you think that the site is a good fit for your interests and how you will be able to contribute to the stated mission of the service agency.
3. Develop learning goals (think Kiser text, future professional goals) for yourself at your chosen human service agencies, specifically addressing how you envision yourself working with supervisors at the agency to enhance the agencys mission.
4. You will contact the sites to inquire about the possibility of doing your internship placement at the site, and include the status of your application/reaching out process in your paper/presentation.
