Use Civic Engagement: The University as a Public Good by Nancy Cantor (pp. 76-86 in our reader) and The World Might Be Better Off without College for Everyone by Bryan Caplan, citing both correctly using in-text citations and a Works Cited page. As college students yourselves, this topic should be germane, whatever your major. Is Cantor right that college teaches essential lessons that can be difficult to learn elsewhere or is Caplan right that college is overrated? Write an argument in which you put forth your own belief about the purpose of education and/or whether or not college is worth what it. Be sure to include an argumentative thesis, supporting reasons, and evidence, along with well-developed, well-organized, unified and coherent body paragraphs that are bookended by an effective introduction and conclusion.
