Literature Review

Many scholars have spent their careers investigating the topic that interests you for this project. You must learn and synthesize the highlights from their work. Summarize significant research. Based on your assessment and reflection of the annotated bibliography you provided, cull your list of resources to focus on legitimate and valuable leads that provide substance and benefits directly related to expanding and deepening understanding of the approved topic that you want to investigate fully over the rest of this project. The review should not be a disjointed collection of individual summaries, but instead, it should be one single summary of all the research on the topic. Pick 8 to 10 of the best resources you have collected, either from your annotated bibliography or other research efforts, and read every one thoroughly. Then, write an integrated review of the research on your approved topic. Literature reviews should comprise the following elements

An overview of the subject, issue, or theory under consideration, along with the objectives of the literature review

Division of works under review into categories (e.g. those in support of a particular position, those against, and those offering alternative theses entirely)

Explanation of how each work is similar to, and how it varies from, the others

Conclusions as to which pieces are best considered in their argument, are most convincing of their opinions and make the greatest contribution to the understanding and development of their area of research

 

Clearly label the sections of the paper. Only credible, peer-reviewed, scholarly resources should be used.

 

The report sections are:

1.Abstract summary of the complete research effort

2.Background identifies the problem and sources of the problem being investigated

3.Literature review summarizes the key research items. Note: the findings, recommendations, and reference section are supported by the literature research

4.Findings critical analysis of the issues and root causes associated with the problem being investigated

5.Recommendations summarizes the problem and presents 3-5 solutions to the problem under investigation
