In digital messaging, communicators need to be able to spot an opportunity, whether it is promoting a new product or service, responding to a news event, or writing a message for multiple digital platforms. In traditional marketing, a service is often sold. But digital messaging often involves aligning a message to a brand or goal, and it is not always tied to a specific pitch or sale of goods.

For this milestone, you will submit a short paper that explains the goals, purpose, and plan of a multimedia campaign you are creating. You will provide an overview of the intended audience and state three goals of your digital campaign, based on new media writing best practices and the appropriate tone and voice. Those best practices include presenting a call to action, writing in chunks, using lists and bullets, using Associated Press style, and including multimedia elements. This is not a traditional marketing campaign that takes weeks to develop a pitch.

This milestone will serve as an outline for elements you will address in your final project: targeting an audience, establishing campaign goals, and adhering to new media writing best practices.
