• To review a brief history, meaning and purpose of the U.S. Constitution
• To analyze the basic structure of the U.S. Constitution 
• To briefly examine each key Article contained in the U.S. Constitution
• To identify the basic powers of Congress
• To conduct research to provide meaning of the separation of powers and the concept of Federalism

Assignment Overview

This assignment is a discussion and analysis of the U.S. Constitution and it’s various Articles. It is designed to promote discussion on the meaning of the Articles and various key concepts derived from the Constitution, including the powers of Congress.   

Deliverables 

Review Video

Submit a 2 to 3 page paper.

Step 2 - Using the internet, locate and read the Articles of the U.S. Constitution. 

Step 3 - Write  2 – 3 page Report/Summary and analysis of the Basic Structure to the U.S. Constitution.

Include in your discussion and analysis, the basic meaning or purpose of the Constitution. Briefly explain the purpose or aim of each major Article of the Constitution. Also discuss what is meant by the separation of powers and the concept of federalism. Finally, include in your summary, a discussion of the enumerated powers of Congress (including the impact and/or significance of the Necessary and Proper Clause).   Please provide references in APA format.

Hint(s): There are at least six (6) key Articles that should be discussed and analyzed in your summary.
