Personal statement essay

I am Jessica A. Kpogban,I am a 32 years old Nigerian lady, both my parents are pastors, and the church has been their Number 1 and most times the only priority on their list, their parental scope didn’t go beyond the basic needs(food, shelter, clothing and school attendance)

Due to some circumstances I was a loner with no guidance from anyone, 

I have never been able to fully grasp what studying was all about, I often wonder how I passed my kindergarten, primary and secondary school exams because I was never taught to sit down and go through my class notes, i figured out most of my homework without a second thought and mostly sighed when I get a pass and moved on without a second thought, it wasn’t until I got to the university that I realized that I had missed a very big step in my education. Thinking back I realized that I passed my exams because I paid attention in class and wrote my exams without a thought. I struggled immensely in the university, I graduated with a 2.2. I learned that I’ve been a bit slower that my age group in understanding and processing information, all these years I’ve had no clear vision for my life but now I’m 32 and through the highs and lows in my life, I understand life better and most importantly I know the path I want to thread, at the end of 2019, I decided to follow one of my passions which is fashion, I made a decision to learn tailoring which I started doing in 2020 and til date that is the hardest path I’ve taken in my life but looking back I am very proud of myself because I scaled through as one of the best in class, even though I was at the very bottom at the beginning and now my heart pulls me into another passion which is media, I want to learn and explore and also marry it with the fashion I have learned before, I hope you give me the opportunity to delve into this path, learning more about this course and myself.
