In this class we have discussed markets, such as in the P.O.W. camp, where the French and British freely traded coffee and tea.  Markets are defined as the free exchange of goods. But are there any objects that should not be freely exchanged on the market?

Write a paper that:

1. Chooses one of the following objects:

a. One’s Own Body

b. Drugs

c. Babies

d. Sex

e. Education

And then,

2. Makes the best case that you can for why there should not be a market for this thing, that is, that it is not something that should be bought and sold, or exchanged for something else.

And then,

3. Makes the best case that you can for why there should be a market for this thing, or at least that it should be permissible to have a market for this thing.

And, finally,

4. Says which position you think has the stronger argument and thus whether or not you think this thing can be exchanged on the market.

**For this paper you must refer to at least two of the readings from the syllabus for this class.  You can choose whatever readings you think will best help you to make your argument. Please provide one quotation from each article and give the citation.
