You will be asked to complete several “free-write” regarding a specific topic related to the content presented online in the Modules and will be in response to a prompt provided by the instructor. These reflections will be about the class material and will be different than your Book Club discussion posts, which will be focused on your books.
The grades for these assignments will be based on thoughtfulness and completion of your own work, participation, and the Writing Guidelines for a total of 10 points.
The submission includes two parts: your free-write (7 points) and an image/song/website (3 points) that helps to convey what you are discussing in your free write and/or provides a resource to share with your colleagues.
The free-write is approximately 2-4 paragraphs (~1 page) using customary formatting and font. If you do utilize any sources, please do cite them appropriately using APA 7th ed.
In addition to your free-write, the other part of your submission is to tie your response/thinking to something you find in the world around you. Essentially, where can you find an example, and what is it? This can include an image (your own or someone else’s), a song, a quote, a meme, a video, a blog, or a website. This part is pretty flexible and is intended to have you tie what we are thinking about in class to the world you live in.

Consider your own beliefs about physical ability and self-sufficiency. Be honest with yourself about what your relationship to one’s physical ability is in terms of their worth, value, and contribution. You can share that here safely, no one reads this but me. Where did we learn these values?
What are they tied to? Meaning, why do certain ideas about physicality even have value?
What could it mean to live a life that is deemed to have less value?
How could we uplift people who we have deemed as having less value?
