Reflection topic
You are asked to write your paper on a health care related topic of your choice. You must write about a healthcare related experience or encounter. This could be when you were the recipient of care or when you accompanied someone to an appointment or were present in a healthcare encounter with another person such as friend or family member ( partner,parent,child) it can also be a volunteer,co-op or work-related healthcare specific experience. It can be positive or negative encounter. The topic should be something you can reflect on and learn from through the reflective process.

Evaluation:
L- Look back at an experience or event in healthcare or experiences working in an health care.
E- Elaborate on what happens? Event described with enough detail describes what was seen,felt,heard identifies people involved where and when. Described feelings and thoughts of self and others.
A-Analyze the event described: Review the information form outsides sources and resources. Goes beyond their own thoughts/feelings and knowledge base by searching out and applying knowledge from texts, course theory, articles, organizational policy etc Compare and contrast theoretical knowledge to the event critical thinking is evident and clearly organized.
R- Revise approach and behaviour for the next event- how would I do this next time (as a nurse) I.e identify important elements from situation/literature to preserve, identify important elements from situation/literature to change,describe how the change will take place.
N- New perspective regarding myself and why nursing practice what do I think now? What did I learn about nursing and/or myself. How will this influence my future practices?
