Specifications:

  •  You are required to write one 5 – 7 page research paper on a problem posed by an interpretive reading of one of the plays in relation to other texts by the author, or to a point of history, design, or acting style.
  • Choose a topic that interests you and will be enjoyable to research.
  •  You must use at least three references beyond the plays read. In other words – you will read at least two plays by your chosen author, as well as three other texts to assist you in arguing your “problem.”
  • These texts may include one source of biographical information about the author, critical texts (books, journal articles, newspaper articles, essays) on either the overall work of the author or you chosen plays, and production reviews of your chosen plays.
  • You may use up to two internet sites- not Wikipedia, e-notes or the like.  They must be credible, education sites – domain name edu.
  • Papers will be typed, cited or footnoted, and contain a bibliography.
  • Make sure you footnote or endnote throughout the paper. 
  • Any use of reference material needs to be noted and credit given to the author of the material from which you have taken the information. 
  • Plagiarism  (including paraphrasing) is unacceptable and will result in a failing grade 

 

Papers are due December 16 at 11:59 pm. Late papers will be accepted until December 17 at midnight.
