Overview

Performing a strategic audit on a regular basis is crucial to the success of the business, as business leaders must guard for sudden or incremental changes in market conditions. The strategic manager performs a strategic audit to assess current business strategy and its competition, determine competitive risks to develop new strategies, and gauge whether the company is in a position to execute the strategy.

In this assignment, you will identify and analyze an organization and its top competitor to help identify potential strategies to enhance the organization’s competitive positioning.

Assignment Instructions

1. Select an organization in the United States that includes the requirements listed below:
• Organization’s current performance
• Mission Statement
• Vision Statement
• Strategies
• Policies
• Corporate Social Responsibility
2. Visit the Security Exchange Commission (open in new window), and search for Form 10K as a resource to select an organization (a public organization is not required for this assignment).
3. Make sure that the mission/vision statements and strategic goals and objectives are readily available for the organization that you choose; if not readily accessible, select another organization.
4. Submit proposed organization for approval to the instructor. Include:
• Organization’s URL
• URLs for supportive research
• Rationale for selection of organization
