Summarize what Philip Sipiora, the editor of the book, Reading and Writing about Literature, analyzes about “Indian Camp” in his chapter on “Analyzing ‘Indian Camp'” on pages 32-34. - Make sure you credit Sipiora for his references to Hemingway; otherwise, it can look like you are taking credit for his work. Example: Sipiora quotes Hemingway…(qtd. in Sipiora 34). Note: When referring to sources quoted by the author and not by you, use proper parenthetical citation (qtd. in last name of author and page number); “qtd” stands for quoted.
- Do not be too general or short. Be sure to support your answers with evidence and details from the source. Pretend you are explaining the source to someone who has not read it to be sure you include enough details so that someone who has not read the source understands what you are talking about. - Explain what Sipiora says about the importance of carefully understanding and accurately explaining the main literary elements that make up a story before a reader can respond and interpret the story.
