INTRODUCTION

In this task, you will identify a professional goal and then implement the goal, as well as two evidence-based practices that will help you achieve that goal. You will then reflect on your experience during this process.
REQUIREMENTS

Your submission must be your original work. No more than a combined total of 30% of the submission and no more than a 10% match to any one individual source can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from sources, even if cited correctly. The originality report that is provided when you submit your task can be used as a guide.

 

You must use the rubric to direct the creation of your submission because it provides detailed criteria that will be used to evaluate your work. Each requirement below may be evaluated by more than one rubric aspect. The rubric aspect titles may contain hyperlinks to relevant portions of the course.

 

Tasks may not be submitted as cloud links, such as links to Google Docs, Google Slides, OneDrive, etc., unless specified in the task requirements. All other submissions must be file types that are uploaded and submitted as attachments (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .ppt).

 

A.  Explain how implementing evidence-based practices (EBPs) can contribute to the successful achievement of a goal.

1.   Describe three types of professional development that would help you incorporate EBPs into your instructional routine.

2.  Justify how each of the three types of professional development aligns with research-based best practices for high-quality professional learning. Support the best practices from your justification with evidence from a scholarly source.

 

B.  Identify a professional goal and describe how the goal is related to your instructional practice.

 

C.  Develop and implement a plan for applying EBPs to your instructional practice by doing the following:

1.  Identify two research-based EBPs that can help you achieve the goal described in part B. Cite evidence from a scholarly source that supports your identified EBPs.

2.  Explain how you will regularly implement the first EBP into your instructional practice.

a.  Describe the timeline for implementing the first EBP.

b.  Describe the data or evidence you will use to indicate whether or not you implemented the first EBP successfully.

3.  Explain how you will regularly implement the second EBP into your instructional practice.

a.  Describe the timeline for implementing the second EBP.

b.  Describe the data or evidence you will use to indicate whether or not you implemented the second EBP successfully.

 

D.  Describe how applying the two EBPs from part C1 will help you achieve your professional goal from part B and improve your teaching practice.

 

E.  Explain why it is important to have a growth mindset as you implement each of the two EBPs into your instructional practice, including any short-term successes or opportunities for improvement.

 

F.  Acknowledge sources, using APA-formatted in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.

 

G.   Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.
