After watching both of the films in class this week (“Big Fish” and “The Green Mile”), consider the following prompts:

The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.
–Brandon Sanderson, author
Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.
— Sue Monk Kidd, author
Choose one of the prompts to respond to in a multi paragraph format. You must refer to one of the films watched this week in class. You may choose to refer to only one of the films if you wish.
Your final draft should be written in PROSE form (anything that is not poetry) and should explore the prompt(s) you have chosen to respond to the film and other literature you have chosen.
You will have to determine your own topic and thesis in response to the prompt.
Your grade will be marked using the standard ELA 30-2 rubrics.
