Web 2.0 Tools

SDigital learners can showcase their new skills or knowledge using a variety of creative approaches. The internet is filled with high-quality Web 2.0 tools which have the potential to enhance learning needs.

In this assignment, you will explore Web 2.0 tools and their application to digital learning. You will then create a table to display the Web 2.0 tools and explain whether the tool enables learners to create, collaborate, or both.

Step 1. Identify and Display
Web 2.0 tools can take learning to higher levels when associating them with Bloom’s Taxonomy. Identify five Web 2.0 tools, and then analyze the tools in a table.

Set up a 5-column table with these column titles:

·         Selected Web 2.0 tool

·         URL

·         Educational level of learners (early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, adult)

·         Content area

·         Bloom’s level

Then complete the cells of the table using Web 2.0 tools of your choice. The Bloom’s level should reflect the highest level the tool will facilitate. See the Learning Objects page for information on the Bloom’s levels.

Step 2. Introduce
Write one paragraph to introduce the table you created in Step 1.

Step 3. Choose and Describe
Choose two of the Web 2.0 tools from the table in Step 1, and in 3-4 paragraphs describe:

·         How each tool allows learners to either create, collaborate, or both.

·         A specific activity using each tool to to promote collaboration, creativity, or both.

Step 4. Assemble
Using a Web 2.0 tool of your choice, assemble the information from Steps 1-3 into a product suitable for your learner audience. When you identify the title location in the Web 2.0 tool, specify the educational level of the learners (early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, adult).

Include APA-formatted text citations and references for the selected Web 2.0 tools. Include at least 2 peer-reviewed articles (one from the classroom materials and one that is not from the classroom materials). You may provide more than the required references, but not less.

Step 5. Submit
Submit the product including the references either in the product or as a separate Word document.
