Hi Everyone,

Some policies that I would implement to keep my employees engaged is to make sure they take their two 15-minute breaks and their complete 30-minute lunch       break during their shift. It is imperative that as we work that we do not get overly tired or that hunger sets in so, these breaks are mandatory. In the business that I   currently own, I do not have to worry about that because we have a cleaning service, and we do not work an 8-hour shift, but I have needed my breaks in the past. Another policy that I would implement is that cell phones can be allowed to be on the employee’s person due to such a high rate of crime in the area. As of the past   five years in my area, there have been more murders and home invasions (from a small town, live in the country) which is unusual, but I would want my staff to be   safe and call for help. Sometimes we work after hours when businesses close and having our phones on us is a must. I do believe that this policy is fair and             justified. Another policy that I would implement would be to check in when leaving one job site and when going to the next so that we know where the employee is    located at all times. Safety is of high priority. Lastly, with Covid going on and the rates increasing again, I would have to require vaccinations of my staff, and if they   cannot, I would need a medical waiver. My husband and I own a cleaning service, so going into homes and businesses can put staff and us at risk. Therefore we     have to ensure that they are protected outside of just wearing masks.


In this plan, I would ensure that all employee personalities are accounted for by sending out a memo and maybe calling a meeting stating that these policies are      being implemented with everyone in mind. I would ensure that we must ensure they are protected because they have families we do not want to be put at risk. By    making sure our memo includes everyone, no matter their culture, demographic, or physical ability, they will know that these policies are respective.
