Group 3 research topic is Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS). The CAHPS survey analyzes hospital patients’ experiences through a series of standardized questions and important topics to hospitals. CAHPS is a measuring tool healthcare providers use to collect feedback and information on patient satisfaction during the car. CAHPS is the first national standard data-collecting survey used to publicly report information about patient care experiences (Maher et He., 2021). It allows individuals to compare patients’ care satisfaction both locally and nationally. This survey focuses on crucial aspects of patient care, such as communication with providers, medication, and interventions of the nursing staff (Houser, 2018).

The article I chose is Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey of Changes in Patient Satisfaction Scores During the Early COVID-19 Pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has fractured some healthcare facilities, limiting care and patient satisfaction survey with outpatient care. There has been a significant change in how patients are cared for, especially with the reintroduction of telemedicine. Telemedicine has altered the overall patient satisfaction assessment with outpatient care and patient clinic visits. This article examines the onset of COVID-19, the abrupt decline with in-person outpatient clinic visits, and a concurrent increase in telemedicine benefits (Maher et He., 2021).
