CIS 230 Exercise Summary:
For the Week 3 Exercises, you will complete and submit thefollowing items:
Module 5
- Information technologies can be misused to invade users privacy and commit computer crimes. Determine some of the risks associated with information technologies by listing and briefly describing some of the misuses of information technologies. You are not required to list and describe all, but you should include 3 or more.
- Discuss some of the security guidelines that can help prevent against the misuse of information technologies.
- Briefly describe the three important aspects of computer and network security of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, collectively referred to as the CIA triangle.
- Determine some security threats as well as some security measures that can be taken to prevent security threats.
Module 6
- Describe data communication, some major applications of a data communication system, and the three major components of a data communication system.
- List and briefly describe three main processing configurations of data communication systems.
- Describe the difference between a wireless network and a mobile network. Determine some advantages and disadvantages of wireless and mobile networks.
- Discuss convergence and some of the applications of convergence.
The purpose of the Exercise is to help you better understand thekey points. It is not sufficient to state your opinions alone; you must be ableto back up your responses by applying concepts and topics from the text withthe information that supports your findings. The expected response length is3-5 sentences per question.
