Section #1: Research question and literature review (10%) – Identify a research question relevant to a social problem that interests you. Conduct a literature review that is pertinent to your research question. Your review process must include a minimum of 5 articles.
Complete the provided review matrix to include each article reviewed. Conclude by:
- Describing what you have learnt from the review that will inform your research proposal e.g. what is the relationship between your research question and what is currently known/unknown? should you tweak your question – if so, why? does the literature suggest a best methodology or theoretical framework?
- Stating your final research question, and four specific reasons as to why it is a good one.
- Stating a hypothesis that represents your best guess as to the likely answer to your research question. Explain the rationale for this hypothesis.
