Love is one of the most profound emotions known to human beings. There are many kinds of love, but most people seek its expression in a romantic relationship with a partner. How do we find our soulmate and how do we know this person is “THE ONE”. Although the search for a partner can be long and difficult, the vast majority of people do get married. Every day in June, the most popular wedding month of the year, thousands of couples will say “I do,” committing to a lifelong relationship that will be full of friendship, joy, and love that will carry them forward to their final days on this earth. Except, of course, it doesn’t work out that way for many people. Many marriages fail, either ending in divorce and separation or leading to long periods of bitterness and dysfunction. Just as falling in love can bring great joy, falling out of love brings great sadness and pain.
Why do we fall in love and why do we break up? Describe one of these events for a couple that you know very well (your parents, your best friend, perhaps even yourself). How did they meet, fall in love, get married? Alternatively, you can describe how this couple decided the relationship was over…the process of breaking up.

Human beings are social animals. Our lives depend on other humans from the very beginning. Human infants are born unable to transport or care for themselves. Their survival depends on another human’s efforts. We develop and learn about the world around us through other people. Our connections to others are key to not only our survival, but also to our happiness and the success of our careers.
Three billion people, around 40% of the world’s population, use online social media – and we’re spending an average of two hours a day sharing, liking, tweeting and updating on these platforms, according to some reports. We depend on our smartphones for work, school, our personal and social lives. When was the last time you left home without your phone and kept on going? The internet has become a significant part of our daily lives. So too has social media.
Is social media a good thing or a bad thing? Well, there are two sides to complex issues and the same goes for social media. Many people admire it as a revolutionary invention and some seem to feel it has a negative impact on the society. Does social media make us more or less social…more or less connected to our friends…increase or reduce personal interactions…bring us closer together or push us further apart…make us more or less lonely?
