Implementing an information system or business process change could mean a variety of things and a broad skill set is needed if a team is expected to tackle any obstacle. They need to know how their businesses network operates so that they can add or remove network devices without impacting those using the network (Zimmerman, 2018). Understanding infrastructure and database management will help make sure databases and file structures are designed optimally so that they are easy for workers to access quickly. They also need to be able to problem-solve and think outside of the box to find a creative solution to issues that may not be readily apparent. When a project has an issue, it is rarely acceptable to say that it simply did not work and move on. They need to be able to see why it did not work and come up with alternative solutions so that the project can continue. Having a strong understanding of technical terms is a largely helpful skill when an alternative solution is needed because, in many cases, somebody else has likely already solved the problem. Knowing how to appropriately search for the problem in a search engine to find someone elses documented solution can be a much quicker way to find a solution or get on the right track towards a solution than simple trial and error.
