Anti-war ideals and humanity in Hun Jang’s The Front Line(고지전)

Essay guideline:
You should cite at least 3 articles/books in addition to a film/literary work that you will analyse. Your essay must demonstrate the following: 1) close analysis (scenes, imageries, language etc.) of a literary work or film; 2) original interpretation–do not read other people’s reviews or interpretations; 3) good use of scholarly works (historical, theoretical, sociological) to support your analysis.
The essay should be 2000 words, double-spaced, and typed in 12- point Times New Roman font. Your essay should demonstrate your ability to analyse and think critically. Instead of making general or vague statements, you should provide specific examples and provide your own interpretations. Do not recycle your blog presentation or any other previously written assignment (such papers will receive no credit). To get a good grade, you should try to do the following:
1) Write a thematically focused essay; narrow down your topic as much as you can.
2) Thoughtfully argued and clearly written prose. Provide original interpretation supported by credible textual evidence.
3) Construct a well-structured and coherent thesis. Your essay should include a title, introductory paragraph(s), body, and conclusion. 4) Use a consistent citation system (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style).
5) Provide full citations with accurate page numbers and bibliographic information.
