Assignment #3– Job Screening

This assignment relates to the following Course Learning Requirements:

CLR #1 – Apply recruitment and selection theories and best practices within an organization

CLR #3 – Build an employee selection process

 

Objective of this Assignment:

To create a job screening process that meets the following criteria:

1. Is aligned with organizational and job analysis;
2. Is efficient to execute in terms of cost and resources;
3. Is predictive of job performance;
4. Is legally defensible;
5. Is perceived as fair and acceptable by job candidates.

 

Instructions:

 

Step 1.

Draft a screening process that outlines the following:

• The purpose of the process (why it’s necessary and will provide value to the organization);
• The various methods that will be used for screening job applicants (you must choose a minimum of 4 screening methods); (Resume Screening, Cover Letters, Skill Testing, Applicant Tracking systems, Reference Checking, Etc)
• Who in the organization will be responsible for executing the steps involved (choose fictitious positions that you think would be available within medium to large-sized HR department);
• How the process will be evaluated.

Step 2:

1. Create a screencast presentation which allows you to capture your screen and your voice. (No need to record voice I will do this part)
2. The instructions for this screencast are in your LMS under Activities and Assignment.
3. You must also include in this presentation the rationale for choosing these methods and how the objectives identified in Step 1 have been met
4. You will cite all your sources of information using APA formatting. Remember, personal communications from a professional in the field count as a reference source
