For two of the topics or specific papers that we cover — students will write a short idea brief (~2 pages) focusing on a research idea related to the topic or paper. The idea briefs should sum- marize the topic or paper, and then discuss a potential research idea based on the topic. Each idea brief will count for 10% of the final grade. Each idea brief will be graded out of 10 points: 4 for sufficiently summarizing the topic or paper we covered in class; 4 for the quality of the research idea; 2 for turning in the assignment on time.
