Identify one student exhibiting problem behavior in the school setting, and obtain consent from the parent (Appendix A) to conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment. Many schools use the FBA procedure as a matter of course when a behavioral problem is noticed, so you may be able to assess a student who has already been identified. Following the steps in your textbook, conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment. These steps describe the general guidelines for conducting the assessment, but you may choose to use your school’s specific forms and procedures. If your school does not have specific materials, there are worksheets and examples in the textbook for each step of the process. Regardless of the interview and observation forms used to conduct the assessment, your final Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) should follow the format exemplified in the text or in the attached example and should include all of the information detailed in the example. At the completion of this project, you will submit all of your assessment data (interviews, observations, etc.), and the Behavioral Intervention Plan.
