Reading notes #2:

Please read the article closely, answer the following questions (preferably handwritten, scan or take photo and upload):

1. How can you tell this article is a review article (aka secondary literature)?
2. What is the motivation for the study – what is the broad problem in the field that the study helps to address?
3. What is the specific hypothesis being tested/evaluated/discussed?
4. What were the important quantitative results?
5. Explain whether the results support or contradict the hypothesis/idea the authors’ stated.
6. Did they provide any counterpoints for discussion?
7. What do the results mean in terms of the broader issues that motivated the study?
8. A good article title needs to strike a balance between sounding interesting and being informative about the topic it covers. You will have to think carefully about the title of your own article. But for now, what do you think of the title of this article? Was it well balanced between sounding interesting while also being informative or was it skewed in one direction? Can you suggest a different title for this article?
