BLM .vs. ALM protests

 What is the BLM (Black lives matter) movement? The BLM movement is essentially the acknowledgement that us black people are here and that we are human and that we deserve and demand to be treated as such. The BLM movement is about speaking up and not letting injustices happen; it’s about standing up for ourselves because we have been silenced for too long; it’s about standing up for those within our community who can’t speak for themselves; it’s also about calling out those who aren’t treating us equally. The BLM movement is about us promoting equality and the right to be alive. What is the ALM (all lives matter) “movement” it basically the rebuttal to BLM when they say all lives matter it translates into all WHITE lives matter. If you agree that all lives matter you are essentially agreeing with BLM; because aren’t black lives included in all lives? We Aren’t saying that black lives ONLY matter, we are saying that are black lives matter TOO. BLM isn’t degrading or dismissing any other race, we’re just here to let you know we matter too. When did the BLM movement start; it started in 2012 after the brutal death of Trayvon Martin. What happened to Trayvon Martin was anything new but the world had had enough so we started the BLM movement calling all of the injustice that had happened to black people. Now you’re probably like this isn’t anything new. We had plenty of other racial equality movements before and you’re right our fight for equality started over 400 years ago.  But we are in a new era and this generation has to keep fighting. The BLM movement began to go worldwide again about  1 year ago when we saw the death of George floyd (a black man). George’s death was so brutal and inhumane we just could not let this go on and not do anything about what had happened to him we can’t just keep adding names to a list. It’s time for change.
