This fall was due to the economic crisis that took place in the U.S. A survey was done to know what obligations the citizens have. 10% of the people vote that they have obligation to participate in political activities and 30% of the people vote that they have obligation to vote. All these give a feeling that the citizens of the country want to pay the taxes for the development purpose and obey the laws for the betterment of the society.This decline was due to the privatization. They start to focus on their private lives rather than the public as they believe that a good citizen is a one who is good in his family and job. Until 1959, the powers of the country are in the hand of a few groups (Loveless, M, 2013). These groups include politicians, unions, and businesses. These groups were making the efforts to run the country in an effective way. But now, 80% of the people argue that some groups distrust the powers they have and they use them for their benefits only. The numbers of powers that businesses and union have also gone down. All these show that the citizens of the country are aware of the changes that are taking place. Thus, there is less democracy in the U.S. political system and the civic culture has deteriorated.Impact on politicsPoliticians care about civic culture because there is a common bond between them. No matters whether people live in a blue or red state, they are aware of the civic culture that they have. The politician uses the civic culture to increase their appeal. For example, Barack Obama has used the civic culture in various different ways. He makes use of celebrities to raise the money for his campaign. The civic culture seems to have an impact on American politics (Pateman, C, n.d.). No citizen in the United States is able to achieve political equality. The differences in political activities will persist in the long run. There is the existence of political inequality in society. Some people have considered the role that internet plays in civic life. The civic society has changed the way the politician offer opportunities to the people and organize all these activities in order to achieve the goals.Various researchers have been done to access the impact of civic culture on politics and especially on democracy. The deterioration of the civic culture seems to have a negative impact on politics. The relationship between civic culture and democracy has been tested using the cross-national data. The results show that the civic culture does some significant impact on democracy. In my opinion, the civic culture in the United State has deteriorated and this seems to have an impact on the political environment. Earlier, the country focuses on the active participation of the individual. But there has been a fall in the obligation to participate. Moreover, there has been a decline in the interest to pay the taxes and obey the laws. This leads to the deterioration of civic culture in the United States (Verba, S, n.d.). This deterioration was due to the changes that take place in technology, globalization, religious conflicts, and communism.
