In NZ fluoride is added to some domestic drinking water systems as it is reported to help improve dental health. However, there are also reports that too much fluoride in water can lead to a condition called dental fluorosis. A client has asked you to write a Literature Review on the positive and negative effects of adding fluoride to drinking water. This client has a very basic general scientific knowledge. The Review is due by 4pm Friday 10 May. It is worth 10% of your final grade. • Your review must be written using a word processing package. It must be submitted by uploading into the assignment box in moodle by the due time. • Your report should be 1600 (+/- 10%) words long (approximately four A4 pages of 12 point text), excluding the references. • You should review a minimum of three sources of information for each section, i.e. the positive and negative effects, and for each section at least one of these references must be a research paper from a journal. • You should finish your review with a recommendation section outlining whether you think NZ drinking water should have fluoride added. Your opinion must be based on and justified by information in your review. • You must acknowledge your sources of information using APA referencing and your review must include a Bibliography. • Your review will be checked for authenticity and marks deducted if evidence of plagiarism is found. Extensive plagiarism will result in a nil mark.
