There are two papers for this order. 1 is 2 pages and no sources required, and the second is 3 pages and 2 sources required. I wanted to get the same writer for both papers so that’s why i’ve placed it together.

1st paper

Purpose of the assignment:
In this paper, you will explore the intersections between sexuality, communication, and society. What do these things have to do with one another, in your opinion? How might a persons sexual identity (in relation to that persons other identities) influence the ways they are interacted with as well as how they might interact with others?

Requirements:

1. Your paper must be 2-3 pages and it must be typed. If you cite sources (which you dont need to), you must use APA style. Your paper must be double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman, Arial, Cambria (or another similarly easily readable) font.

2. Your paper must discuss the intersections between sexuality, communication, and society. How is sexuality personal? How is it cultural? What does it have to do with institutions? Communication?

3. Your paper must explain how a persons sexual identity (intersectionally speaking) might influence the way they are interacted with as well as how they might interact with others.

4. Your introduction should grab the readers attention, state your thesis statement, and preview your main points.

5. Your conclusion should summarize the main points, restate the thesis statement, and end strongly.

6. Your essay must be free of grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.

Evaluation information:

This essay is worth 25 points. Average work will receive a mid-C grade (roughly 75%). To earn higher than this, make sure you address every requirement thoroughly and thoughtfully.

Suggestions for preparation:

You dont need to cite sources for this essay. If you are comfortable doing so, you can reference your own experiences, but you do not need to. I am fine with you using the first-person voice, but dont go around telling your English professors about this

2nd paper

Purpose of the assignment:

The main purpose of this assignment is to help you become more familiar with a theory related to sexuality and communication. You will also consult scholarship to more clearly understand how the theory applies to everyday life.

Requirements:

1.     Your reaction paper must be between 2 and 5 pages. It must be typed, double-spaced, and in 12 point Times New Roman/Arial/Cambria font.

2.     You must consult at least two scholarly sources (journal articles or books) to support your overall discussion.

3.     You must have an introduction that catches the readers attention, states a thesis, and previews your main points.

4.     You must thoroughly explain the theory (describe its origins, its assumptions, what exactly it is, and what it attempts to explain). You must ground this explanation clearly in the scholarly sources that youve found.

5.     You must then explain the utility of the theory. How does it apply to everyday life? How does it help us better understand sexuality and communication? As individuals, how does this theory actually relate to our everyday lives? What can we do with this theory? What does it have to do with sexuality?

6.     You must have a conclusion that summarizes your thesis and main points and ends strongly.

7.     You must choose one of the following topics:

a.     Intersectionality

b.     Social construction theory

c.     Habitus

d.     Standpoint theory

e.     Triangulation (Eve Sedgwick)

f.      Social learning theory

g.     Quare studies (E. Patrick Johnson)

h.     Kuaer theory (Wenshu Lee)

i.      Crip theory (Robert McRuer)

j.      Performativity (Judith Butler)

k.     Affect theory (Sara Ahmed, Lauren Berlant)

l.      Transing communication (Gust Yep, Sage Russo, Jace Allen)

m.   Psychoanalytic theory

Evaluation information:

Points will be given according to how well each aspect of this assignment was carried out. If the paper met an average fulfillment of the above requirements, it would receive a 75% (mid-C range) grade in each relevant category. If requirements were exceeded and fulfilled thoughtfully and thoroughly, the paper will earn more than 75% depending upon the degree in which requirements were exceeded. If requirements were not adequately met, the paper would earn less than a 75% depending upon the degree in which the requirements were not met.

The essay is worth up to 25 points.

Suggestions for preparation:

Most of these theories are pretty well known! You should be able to find more about these theories in several different scholarly sources. Consider books!

Do your best to avoid using internet-only sources for this essay. However, if you do consult them, you must cite them if you use evidence from them.
