In this lab you will create mockups (comps) for your remaining 3 content pages of your website project. Just like last week, your mockups must contain enough (or all) details to give a realistic perspective of what your project will look like as a website or animation project. Remember these mockups must be complete enough that another person could build your project website or animation project from your mockups. Just like last week, be sure to include the actual font, font sizes, exact sized images (or placeholder images), and exact size text that will mirror the final pages or project frames. If you are not sure, please see Module 8 Key Points and Designer Insights for a review.
You may use any graphics editor program that you like (Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, etc.) and save your work as THREE separate JPG files.
Upload your three files to your STUDENT SERVER SPACE and provide the url to your instructor in the dropbox comments area below. Provide your instructor with the link to your student space url where the files are located.
Animation Students: Create Three More Still Images for Your Project
For this lab you will extend your work from last week and create 3 more still images for your project in Illustrator.
Using the images you created last week, start building out the rest of your UX-based project as a whole, starting with your title and the first concept you will be explaining. You are allowed to modify or redesign these first images based on instructor feedback from last week or additional ideas you came up with that would be more successful. Regardless of whether you stick to your original plan or choose to start all over, by end of this week you should have a fully completed project that includes a title at the beginning and showcases at least four user experience concepts.
Your content must be original, and you may NOT use any exercise files. Do not forget your target audience (non-designers) and area of focus (explaining what UX is/means).
Remember, the still images you made last week are much like the comps (mockups) that are used for websites and will be the first glimpse of your design work that your client or employer will see. Therefore, be sure pay attention to details in your project this week.
Next week you will integrate your project into HTML5 Canvas.
You must use Illustrator for your projects, and be sure to save your work as separate files. Like last week, you will want to save your original .AI files but will need to submit exported JPG images.
Upload your three files to your STUDENT SERVER SPACE and provide the url to your instructor in the dropbox comments area below. Provide your instructor with the link to your student space url where the files are located.
