(6) Three (3) Fictitious Disaster Threats: A fictitious disaster is a false claim against an organization.  For example, a police department must have a plan to address false claims of things like abuse of power, brutality, targeting communities; etc.  Fictitious scenarios are when blame is leveled on the organization for issues it had nothing to do with or did not do.  Another example includes false newspaper stories. Fictitious disasters are typically handled by the Public Relations function.
