Steps to consider
Reread/re–watch the text of your choice, considering whether you agree, disagree, or partly
agree and disagree.
Make note of evidence (in the form of quotations) that would be helpful points to argue with or
against in your own essay.
Think about the best organizational pattern for your essay. Please do not rely on formulaic
writing or the five–paragraph essay.
Construct a clear and focused thesis.
You may want to have someone read your essay and give you feedback for improvement or
visit the writing center.
Read your own paper out loud to yourself.
Revise and edit your paper before submitting it.
Format and Due Date
This essay should be 750–1,000 words in length (not including works cited). It should have a
Works Cited page.
When you quote, paraphrase, or summarize from the source, you must use parenthetical
citations.
This essay should be formatted according to MLA style.
It should be turned in as either a Word or PDF document.
Due Date: Thursday, January 27. Upload it to D2L by 11:59 PM.
