       Taking the EI Assessment my overall score was 52; which means my emotional intelligence level is OK. In my opinion the results were spot on, having a good relationship with some of my colleagues and I do find it hard to work with some people. I think this may be due to me being sometimes a very anti-social individual. I am very observant and I have a tendency to not like people first before I actually start to like someone. But, i know I need to improve in that area in order to be successful once i get in my chosen career choice. I scored the highest which I would consider a strength is Self-Awareness; because this involves being more focused on the present moment. I scored the lowest on Social Skills which that has always been a weakness of mine. It does state that “I am not a natural people person” which to me is a good and bad thing. 

       An example that I can think of is in one of my previous roles as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator.  One of my newer team members were falling behind and another team member informed me she was a little nervous about sourcing and interviewing candidates on the phone. It did take me a few days to notice due to me only running the reports on Mondays because I would pull it from the week before. On the Tuesday I sent her an email and scheduled a time to meet so we can discuss how she would improve her numbers and getting her more confident doing her phone screenings. Coming up with her own personal game plan and allowing her to re-train with myself and my senior recruiter twice a week until she was comfortable enough to fly alone. Within a month her numbers went from being a 45% up to 93%. I think this came from me allowing her to find her own way of working while still getting the training and coaching she needed. EI can be defined as a way to recognize, understand, manage emotions by recognizing others as well.
